- The Horror! The Horror!: Comic Books the Government Didn't Want You to Read! by Jim Trombetts takes a look at the US Senate hearings that censored some of the very best 1950s horror comics. The Graphic Novel Reporter favorably reviewed Trombetts' book here.
- Lovecraft scholar S.T. Joshi's landmark 1996 biogrpahy, H.P. Lovecraft: A Life is being released in 2 volumes, entitled I Am Providence: The Life and Times of H. P. Lovecraft. Publisher's Weekly genre fiction reviewer and Lovecraft scholar Peter Cannon has this review.
- Horrors: Great Stories of Fear and Their Creators by Rocky Wood and illustrated by Glenn Chadbourne, offers a compelling, graphic history of horror. A review from The Black Glove can be found in the middle of this post.
