A lot of the 31 Days of Horror content is pre-planned; however, I always leave room for a few posts to gather all of the great content being put out by others this month as well. Today is one of those days.
- The Horror Writers Association hosts an October blog-a-thin as well. It is called Halloween Haunts, and like my Why I Love Horror series, it allows authors to talk about what Horror means to them. Check it out today and everyday going forward. You can use this link to access all Halloween Haunts posts over the years as well.
- Goodreads is celebrating Horror all month long. You can use that link to access a bunch of content including, but not limited to, a list of the top 60 Horror books of the last 5 years [RA gold!] and a list of the year's top horror authors suggesting reads [also RA gold!-- see my 5 resources you cannot live without on my 10 Rules page: Author Recs of other Authors].
- Vulture published their list of the best Horror books of 2022.
- Book Riot, one of our Summer Scares partners, published this great discussion about the appeal of Horror-- Why You Should Read Horror All Year Round.
- Also on Book Riot-- The Best Scary Short Story Collections.
- Speaking of Summer Scares, the NYT did this column reviewing some solid YA Horror including 2022 Summer Scares author Adam Cesare's latest.
There are many more great lists being published just about everywhere, but these are some of the ones that are most helpful for helping readers.
